TWI Hosts Passenger Railway Engineering Education Symposium

The Transportation Workforce Institute (TWI) hosted the American Public Transportation Association’s (APTA) biennial Passenger Railway Engineering Education Symposium (p-REES), Monday, July 10 – Wednesday, July 12th.  P-REES is part of the hugely successful REES program sponsored by the American Railway Engineering and Maintenance-of-Way Association (AREMA) where faculty attend to learn about current research and development in railroad engineering education programs.  Our national industry partner, APTA, continues to count on LATTC to host, convene and present in their technical continuing education opportunities.  The symposium included sharing of promising practices. This event further promotes our commitment to rail training and education.

“I want to thank Jess Guerra, for collaborating with APTA to bring this national event to LATTC.   Our college team that included faculty, staff and administrators had an opportunity to share what we do at this college to train students for the future transit career opportunities.” – Larry Frank, President Los Angeles Trade Technical College
