LATTC Advanced Transportation and Manufacturing Open House
The Advanced Transportation and Manufacturing (ATM) Pathway at Los Angeles Trade-Technical College held a successful open house on Wednesday, March 9. Hundreds of attendees, including local high school students, visited the ATM shop to explore potential careers in the Transportation and Manufacturing fields.
Demonstrations of automobile hydraulics, custom painting, and transmissions in the transportation disciplines, as well as a plasma cutter from the manufacturing discipline were among the favorite exhibits.
Jobs in the transportation industry are projected to increase by as much as 22% by the year 2020. Events such as these help to recruit enthusiastic students to become proficient in Advanced Transportation and Manufacturing disciplines, and then go on to fill those much-needed jobs.
